OUR GIVING PHILOSOPHY

Calpine’s philanthropic mission is to continually enhance the quality of life in the communities where Calpine employees live and work through ongoing support of organizations focused on improving education and workforce development, environmental and community issues with particular emphasis on giving to organizations where employees volunteer their time and resources, support social justice initiatives and/or provide economic opportunity for all.

VOLUNTEERISM

Across the company, Calpine employees regularly roll up their sleeves to volunteer their time supporting local charities. This spirit of volunteerism is evident throughout the year, but in particular during our annual Calpine in Our Communities Day event – a companywide tradition where employees at each Calpine location choose a community outreach activity to work on together as a team.

CALPINE FOUNDATION

The Calpine Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that furthers the company’s mission of providing meaningful support to our local communities. For more than 20 years, the Foundation’s largest philanthropic effort – the Annual Texas Regional Charity Golf Tournament – has raised millions of dollars for charities located near our Texas-based energy facilities that improve the environment and make a difference in the lives of families and children.

EMPLOYEES HELPING EMPLOYEES

Calpine employees are also passionate about helping each other. The Calpine Employee Relief Fund, established in the wake of Hurricane Harvey, is one way employees help their colleagues in crisis. Employee contributions assist other employees in recovering from natural disasters.
