The Pastoria Energy Facility is a highly efficient, combined-cycle power plant located on the Tejon Ranch just south of Bakersfield, California.  Pastoria began commercial operation of Phase I in May 2005 and Phase II in July 2005.

The facility produces enough power to supply the needs of the entire city of Bakersfield, one of the fastest-growing cities in California.  Pastoria produces power using three natural gas-fired turbines in concert with two steam turbines.  The plant is equipped with advanced emissions control systems, significantly reducing air pollution emissions.  It also minimizes the usage of California’s precious water resources using a state-of-the-art wastewater treatment and recycling system.  These advanced technologies place the facility among the cleanest and most efficient power plants in California.
