The Texas City Power Plant is a highly efficient combined-cycle cogeneration facility located in Texas City, Texas. Three combustion turbines are routed to three heat recovery steam generators, which provide steam to one steam turbine.
In 1987, the Texas City Power Plant was built to provide steam to Dow Chemical, allowing Dow to shut down some of its older, less efficient boilers. The addition of this clean, modern power plant contributes to improvements in air quality in Texas City.
